Texting While Driving

Well for a technology blog I bet you are not expecting me to talk about killing technology, but I am.

I am so sorry friends but no one drives well when you are focused on a phone call or texting. I just have to ask the question, what is so freakin important? We really need to think about this.

I would like new technology to be created that when a user gets into a car it shuts down their mobile phone. You can not receive any text messages or phone calls while in your car. Remember there was a time when there were no cell phones. People left you messages and you handle those issues when you got the message. While driving down the road and putting peoples lives at risk is not the time to be dealing with anything other than allowing me to share the road with you and know that you are not going to try to kill me in the process.

As soon as I get in the car with my daughter strapped into her car seat I begin to worry. Some moron will get in their car and attempt to text and drive. It is just as dangerous as driving drunk. One thing though. I don’t take my daughter out in the car around 2 am when the bars let out. I know in the middle of the day there are still drunk drivers on the road. But there are less of them. Unfortunately whenever I get in the car now I have to worry about a textdriver.

I just hate that you people are putting me and my family at risk. When you hit me I am going to ask if that conversation you were having was more important than my life.

IE 9

Well I upgraded my laptop to IE 9. I have to say at this point I like what I see. The browser works well and seems to be faster and IE 8.

I am really looking forward to this browser becoming mainstream. The support that is has for HTML 5 and other new technologies is great. But it is difficult to devote a lot of development time to these technologies because there is a ton of work required for supporting of olders browsers.

I do have one issue since I uploaded this browser. Well youtube obviously doesn’t have support for this browser yet. So when I go there to upload videos the upload video is button is not shown and I have to go to the basic uploader. Hopefully support will be done soon enough.

Well from my perspective all I can say is go ahead and upgrade. The sooner the better. You will be happy with your new experience.
